DESCRIPTION:The Killing tensors on the round sphere are well u
nderstood. In particular\, thanks to the methods o
f parabolic geometry\, the space of Killing tensor
s with some fixed rank is an irreducible represent
ation of the appropriate special linear group acti
ng on the sphere by projective symmetries. What ab
out the corresponding story for complex projective
space with its Fubini-Study metric? Although this
is seemingly not a parabolic geometry in any usef
ul way\, one can still muddle through. Even here\,
some serious puzzles remain! Concerning Killing t
ensors on quaternionic projective space\, twistor
theory suggests an evident path to follow but I do
n't know where it leads. This talk will explain so
me known results and is\, otherwise\, a plea for h
 elp!
