DESCRIPTION:The Killing tensors on the round sphere are well understood. I
n particular\, thanks to the methods of parabolic geometry\, the space of
Killing tensors with some fixed rank is an irreducible representation of t
he appropriate special linear group acting on the sphere by projective sym
metries. What about the corresponding story for complex projective space w
ith its Fubini-Study metric? Although this is seemingly not a parabolic ge
ometry in any useful way\, one can still muddle through. Even here\, some
serious puzzles remain! Concerning Killing tensors on quaternionic project
ive space\, twistor theory suggests an evident path to follow but I don't
know where it leads. This talk will explain some known results and is\, ot
 herwise\, a plea for help!
