lane. Connection formulae between the Rayleigh waves along vertical and ho
rizontal parts of the border. - Elizabeth Its (Indiana University-Purdue

DESCRIPTION:Following the general ideas &nbsp\;of &nbsp\;Fokas's Unified T
ransform Method\, we are presenting&nbsp\;an approach\, based on the Riema
nn-Hilbert apparatus\, &nbsp\;to the elastodynamic equations on the quarte
r plane. &nbsp\;The original boundary problem is reduced to amatrix Rieman
n-Hilbert problem with a shift posed on a tours. We shall also present the
recent developments concerningthe exact calculation of the connection for
mulae between the Rayleigh waves propagatingalong vertical and horizontal
boundaries. The talk is based on the earlier work of the speaker&nbsp\;wit
h A. Its and Yu. &nbsp\;Kaplunov and on the ongoing research &nbsp\;projec
 t with A. Its.
