DESCRIPTION:When much discussion is given to which C/C++ successor languag
e we will\neventually have to rewrite all our codebases in\, Zig takes a d
ifferent approach\;\nZig wants to coexist\, so that instead of "rewrite it
in Y"\, we "maintain it with\nZig". In this talk\, I will give an overvie
 w of the language\, both as a systems\nprogramming language\, and as a (C/
C++) build system. I will focus on features\nthat sets the language apart\
, how these enable optimal approaches in problem\nsolving\, and how you ca
n use Zig today in your existing projects. I will also\nchart directions t
he language is developing in\, and where and why these\ndevelopments might
  be relevant for HPC.
