DESCRIPTION:The Showmen community is a unique and often misund
 erstood group\, which has been referred to as the 
 'last lost tribe of Britain'. To the layperson\, ‘
 Showmen’ are simply the community who own and oper
 ate fairgrounds throughout the UK and abroad. To t
 hose who do know\, Showmen are an intricate networ
 k of small business owners creating a community go
 ing back to the medieval period. They were only re
 cognised on the national census as a cultural mino
 rity in 2021 and are not yet included in the NHS d
 ata dictionary. Although they have been identified
  in higher education within the Gypsy\, Traveller\
 , Roma\, Showmen\, and Boater Pledge (GTRSB). Ther
 e have been few studies undertaken on the educatio
 n\, health\, and well-being of Showmen.\n \nThis t
 alk explores Sheldon Chadwick’s autoethnographic j
 ourney through his doctoral studies. Which he has 
 developed the first comprehensive mental health st
 atistics for the community\, building on the findi
 ngs of the pilot health report 'In-fair Health’ (G
 reenfields et al.\, 2023). During this talk\, Shel
 don will delve into Showmen's identity\, voice\, a
 nd relationship with mental health while examining
  risk factors\, including discrimination and preju
 dice.
