DESCRIPTION:Current practice in social networks requires users to give all
of their personal information to a centralized provider\, one which may h
ave little competence in security and little incentive to change.\nDistrib
uting responsibility for information security to client software solves so
me problems\, but others remain. This talk will describe recent work\, cur
rent research and future aspirations for privacy-enabling social networkin
g technology.\n\nBio: Jonathan Anderson is a PhD student in the Security G
roup. His research focuses on security architectures for the controlled di
sclosure of user information\, especially in the contexts of social networ
 ks and operating systems.\n
