DESCRIPTION:In the past decade\, the field of exoplanet scienc
e has been rapidly expanding with the discoveries
of thousands of new planetary systems in the Galax
 y. The opportunity to characterize worlds differen
t from those in our solar system has revolutionize
d our understanding of planet formation and dynami
cal evolution. It is now clear that our Galaxy is
teeming with planetary systems of diverse architec
tures. Yet\, it is currently not fully understood
how the structure and evolution of our Galaxy may
affect the possibility of forming and maintaining
these planets. In this talk\, I will discuss recen
t results and future prospects to promote a better
understanding of the statistical properties of pl
anets in a galactic context among the Milky Way dy
namic components of the thin-disk\, thick-disk and
  stellar halo of the Galaxy.
