DESCRIPTION:Geometric morphometrics is a specific technique us
ed to learn on spatial and temporal variability of
specific shapes. Originally developed within the
realm of Biology\, archaeologists have by now wide
ly adopted it to infer on material culture pattern
 s. However\, the application of the technique for
the analysis of material culture is not always str
aightforward and comes with its very own challenge
 s and caveats.\n\nIn this talk\, the most common p
rocedures and applications of the technique will b
e reviewed\, including what are the specific probl
ems derived from its application on anthropogenic
material. Additionally\, some examples will be off
ered on how can we bring this technique forward\,
diversify its uses and integrate it into broader r
esearch questions\, so that we can develop further
its great potential.\n\n*This event is in person\
, but will be streamed at: https://zoom.us/j/95506
