DESCRIPTION:Biography\n\nHenry M. Colecraft\, Ph.D. is the Joh
n C. Dalton Professor and Associate Vice Chair in
the Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysi
cs at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. T
he Colecraft laboratory focuses on the molecular p
hysiology of ion channel proteins that underlie si
gnaling in nerve cells and the heart. His research
group has contributed seminal advances to underst
 anding molecular mechanisms underlying regulation
of voltage-dependent Ca2+ and K+ channels by acces
 sory subunits\, posttranslational modifications\,
and signaling molecules. His group also studies ho
w inherited mutations in ion channels lead to deva
stating diseases that span the cardiovascular\, ne
urological\, and respiratory systems\, and seeking
new therapies for them. \n\nZoom link: https://zo
