DESCRIPTION:Invisible Children is a media-based non-profit organisation ad
vocating for the rights of war-affected children in Northern Uganda. \nThe
charity began in 2003 when three student film-makers from San Diego went
to Uganda in search of a story to document. They found an unseen war and t
he children fighting it\, 'unseen' because it has been given so little pol
itical and international attention\; a war that most people don't even kno
w exists. Not only are children being abducted from their families to join
the rebel army the fighting has displaced over a million people in Northe
rn Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo and massacred thousands.\n\nTHE
RESCUE is a film on the growing crisis of child soldiering in the civil w
ar between the LRA (Lords Resistance Army) and the Ugandan Government. The
war has been going on for over 23 years\, which makes it the longest runn
ing war in Africa. A shocking 90% of the rebel LRA are children\, some are
as young as 5 years old.\n
