DESCRIPTION:While depth imaging is the ultimate goal of seismi
 c processing\, the biggest computational efforts i
n the industry are often spent on processing the m
easurements in the time domain. Time processing te
chnologies aim to enhance the seismic signal of in
terest and to eliminate various forms of noise\, e
ither coherent or incoherent\, occurring in nature
or resulting from acquisition limitations. This t
alk describes some of the perturbations affecting
seismic data that are typically not represented in
the models used for imaging and inversion. The me
thods to eliminate the effects of such perturbatio
 ns will also be introduced.
