DESCRIPTION:Disordered hyperuniform materials are an emerging class of amo
rphous statesof matter that are endowed with novel wave and transport char
acteristics with advantages over their periodic counterparts. Such materia
ls are characterized by an anomalous suppression of infinite-wavelength de
nsity fluctuations relative to those in typical disordered systems. An impo
rtant class of such hyperuniform materials are the disordered "stealthy''
varietiesin which there is no single scattering from intermediate to infin
ite wavelengths.I will briefly review the hyperuniformity concept. Then I
will describerecent work on some extraordinary electromagnetic wave progag
ation propertiesof disordered stealthy hyperuniform dielectric composites
 withvarious structural symmetries.
