DESCRIPTION:Bubbles are ideal candidates for studying multiple scattering:
  they are strong and simple acoustic scatterers. Strong because they exhib
 it a low frequency resonance (Minnaert resonance)\, and simple because the
 y are monopoles. It means that one can model the propagation of acoustic w
 aves in a bubbly medium with simple mathematical tools. This talk will add
 ress some typical questions that arise in multiple scattering problems: ho
 w to include the effects of position correlations\, scattering loops and p
 olydispersity in the dispersion relation? We will first consider 3D bubbly
  media. In a second step\, we will show that a 2D geometry is even simpler
  to model and leads to interesting applications such as the super-absorpti
 on of acoustic energy.&nbsp\;
