DESCRIPTION:Tomographic reconstructions rely on the acquisitio
 n of data from many sensors that surround an objec
 t and a source that illuminates the object from a
 range of different angles. An ultrasound transduce
 r can act both as source and sensor and therefore
 arrays of ultrasonic transducers can be used for t
 omographic reconstructions. However\, a key proble
 m is the acquisition of high fidelity signals with
  adequate signal to noise ratio (SNR) from each tr
 ansmitter-receiver path so that transmission energ
 ies can be reduced avoiding potentially excessive
 power transmission and enabling data acquisition w
 ithout cross talk to other channels (transmitter-r
 eceiver paths). This talk will present some of the
  work that we have done on how to use coded excita
 tion to simultaneous transmit and receive signals
 on all channels of an array while also reducing th
 e transmission power and maintaining a good SNR in
  the resulting signals.&nbsp\;
