DESCRIPTION:We present injectivity and microlocal analyses of
 a new generalized Radon transform\,R\, which has a
 pplications to a novel scanner design in 3-D Compt
 on Scattering Tomography (CST)\,which we also intr
 oduce here. Using Fourier decomposition and Volter
 ra equation theory\, we provethat R is injective a
 nd show that the image solution is unique. Using m
 icrolocal analysis\, weprove that R satisfies the
 Bolker condition (sometimes called the &ldquo\;Bol
 ker assumption&rdquo\;)\, and weinvestigate the ed
 ge detection capabilities of R. This has important
  implications regarding the stability of inversio
 n and the amplification of measurement noise. This
  paper provides the theoreticalgroundwork for 3-D
 CST using the proposed scanner design.&nbsp\;
