SUMMARY:Mechanical behaviour of particulate polymer composites - Dan Drodg

DESCRIPTION:Particulate composites include concrete\, tyre rubber\, plasti
c explosives and certain brands of confectionery. The effect of the micros
tructure of these materials on their large-strain deformation properties i
s by no means a closed book - whilst modern computational power does allow
researchers to plug volumetric models wholesale into finite element codes
\, there is still a role for experiment to play. Here\, some experiments i
nto the effect of fill-density and particle size are reported.
