DESCRIPTION:Multiple scattering of light is a major impediment to imaging\
, as the information contained in the wavefront is dispersed among a very
large number of degrees of freedom in a deterministic but ultimately unkno
wable way. Many different approaches to overcome this problem have been pu
t forward\, from adaptive optics\, to optical gating\, to wavefront shapin
g\, each with its own advantages and disadvantages\, but the problem is st
ill largely open (especially for the strong scattering regime where all th
e light is scattered). In this talk I will discuss the possibility to extr
act part of the scrambled information from the correlations of the resulti
ng speckle patterns\, the state of the art\, and some recent experimental
 results.
