DESCRIPTION:We are highly fortunate to able to invite back a former FIBE1 
 student Dr Deryck Chan!\n\nDeryck is currently a chartered engineer workin
 g in Mott MacDonald and an alumnus of FIBE CDT. Since he completed his und
 ergraduate degree at Cambridge\, he has a keen interest in advancing knowl
 edge in geotechnics and gaining hands-on experience in the industry. From 
 his research on soil response in underground construction to his industria
 l experience in geotechnical projects for water facilities\, he would like
  to share his journey on transferring what he learned into practice and fr
 uition.
