DESCRIPTION:Nicola Clayton is Professor of Comparative Cogniti
 on in the Department of Psychology at the Universi
 ty of Cambridge\, a Fellow of Clare College and a 
 Fellow of the Royal Society. Her expertise lies in
  the contemporary study of comparative cognition\,
  integrating a knowledge of both biology and psych
 ology to introduce new ways of thinking about the 
 evolution and development of intelligence in non-v
 erbal animals and pre-verbal children. She is curr
 ently President of the British Science Association
  Psychology Section.\n\nProf Clayton is also the f
 irst Scientist in Residence at Rambert (formerly R
 ambert Dance Company)\, a position she has held fo
 r 11 years. She collaborates with Mark Baldwin OBE
 \, the former Artistic Director\, on new choreogra
 phic works inspired by science including the Laure
 nce Oliver award winning The Comedy of Change (200
 9\, 2013)\, Seven For A Secret Never To Be Told (2
 011)\, What Wild Ecstasy (2012)\, The Strange Char
 m of Mother Nature (2014)\, and The Creation (2016
 )\, and Grave (2018). \n\nIn addition\, she has wr
 itten the words and collaborated on Perpetual Move
 ment (2016\, 2017)\, an exhibition of paintings in
 spired by Rambert at the Lowry and Embodied Cognit
 ion\, a series of art works drawn and painted by M
