DESCRIPTION:Ax's theorem is a power series version of Schanuel's conjectur
 e. It is a statement about the transcendence degree of the values of the e
xponential map on a linearly independent sequence of power series. I will
discuss an analogous statement where the role of the exponential map is pl
ayed by additive power series (in positive characteristic).
