DESCRIPTION:Spectropolarimetry can provide observational constraints on th
e strength and morphology of the large-scale magnetic field in Sun-like st
ars. To date\, very few measurements have been available for stars that ar
e more evolved than the Sun. Recent evidence suggests a substantial transf
ormation of the large-scale field in older stars\, so new measurements are
finally becoming available. I will present the latest spectropolarimetric
observations from the Large Binocular Telescope\, and offer an interpreta
tion that yields a new understanding of the evolution of Sun-like stars ac
 ross this magnetic transition.
