DESCRIPTION:My talk will be on the small-scale statistics in very high but
  finite Reynolds numbers of homogeneous\, isotropic turbulence (HIT) and o
 f turbulent channel flows (TCF). The talk is based on the data of a series
  of high resolution direct numerical simulations of HIT (in a periodic box
 ) with the Taylor microscale Reynolds number up to approximately 2250\, an
 d that of TCF with the wall friction Reynolds number up to approximately 8
 000.
