DESCRIPTION:Broué\;'s conjecture posits that a block wit
h abelian defect group is derived equivalent to it
s Brauer correspondent. A RoCK block is even Morit
a equivalent to its Brauer correspondent. The exis
tence of RoCK blocks is\, therefore\, fundamental
to the study of Broué\;'s conjecture for man
y classes of blocks of finite groups. In this talk
we investigate RoCK blocks for double covers of s
ymmetric groups. The proof that we do indeed have
a Morita equivalence very much mirrors that of the
corresponding result for the symmetric group\, or
iginally proved by Chuang-Kessar. However\, there
are many interesting differences that greatly comp
licate the situation and require several different
techniques to overcome.
