DESCRIPTION:The issue of inviscid energy dissipation is centra
l in turbulence theory and much progress has been
 achieved&nbsp\;recently through convex integration
\,&nbsp\;with the construction of wild solutions.
However\, it remains unclear how physical are thes
e wild solutions and\, in particular\, whether the
y can be obtained by vanishing viscosity limits. I
n planar inviscid flows a related problem is wheth
er vorticity is indeed transported along irregular
flows.\nIn this lecture series we will explore co
nservation of energy and transport of vorticity al
ong sequences of approximations to inviscid flows\
, especially small viscosity solutions of Navier-S
tokes. We will focus on thresholds of regularity a
nd mechanisms which avoid inviscid dissipation\, b
oth for energy and vorticity transport.
