DESCRIPTION:The interchange model is a model in quantum statis
tical physics with close connections to random per
mutations. In joint work with Hjalmar Rosengren an
d Kieran Ryan we recently analysed such models in
a “two-block” setting. This includes complete bipa
rtite graphs as a special case. Our method exploit
s algebraic aspects of the model and allows us to
obtain explicit expressions for certain limiting q
uantities. In the “probabilistic regime” (which in
cludes the Heisenberg ferromagnet) our results may
be interpreted in terms of the appearance of macr
oscopic permutation cycles. In other regimes we ob
tain an intriguing phase diagram.\nBased on: https
