DESCRIPTION:In eukaryotic cells DNA is organised in the form of nucleosome
 s. An array of nucleosomes connected by linker DNA is known as chromatin.
Chromatin is organised across functionally different domains spanning Kb t
o Mb scales. In this study we investigate chromatin composition and organi
sation in vitro and in vivo and highlight some results of the intrinsic or
ganisation of chromatin as a function of nucleosome repeat length and how
these results relate to experimental studies on chromatin liquid-liquid ph
ase separation. We also study the effect of the H1 linker histone on our c
hromatin model and highlight that it increases chromatin compaction by act
ing as a liquid like glue for chromatin.
