 – 17 June 2021 | Time TBC*\n\n*Abstract:*\nThe 'Epistemologies of Land' 
 webcast series will host international experts for discussions on the epis
 temology of land\, ahead of a related publication which will highlight the
  role of the land on\, and with which\, human relations are enacted and ho
 w this land affects the knowledge that is generated and brought to use in 
 social relations. The events are open to interested graduate and postgradu
 ate researchers.\n\n\n*Speaker:*\nShailaja Fennell is a Reader in Regional
  Transformation and Economic Security at the Department of Land Economy an
 d a Fellow of Jesus College at the University of Cambridge.\n\nShe is a Co
 -I on TIGR2ESS (Global Challenges Fund of RCUK)\, a research programme to 
 study how to improve crop productivity and water use\, identify appropriat
 e crops and farming practices for sustainable rural development. She is al
 so a Co-I on MillNeti\, a sister research programme (2019-2021) that is fo
 cussed on how to improve iron nutrition status of people living in Ethiopi
 a and The Gambia by assessing the bioavailability of iron from biofortifie
 d millet. Her work package focuses on the use of quantitative and qualitat
 ive surveys to understand how millets are currently grown\, processed\, co
 oked and consumed in focus villages in The Gambia and Ethiopia.\n\nShailaj
 a is the PI on an ASEAN funded project (2019-2021)\, and leading a core te
 am responsible for designing the framework\, commissioning the experts and
  compiling the latest research to deliver the first ASEAN Development Outl
 ook that focuses on policies to ensure inclusion and sustainability in Sou
