 seful skill for any Computer Scientist to have. Over the decades\, many op
 timization algorithms have been developed each with their own advantages a
 nd disadvantages. This talk aims to highlight one specific optimization al
 gorithm\, the Nelder-Mead method\, and hopes to demonstrate its usefulness
  as well as reflect on some of the shortcomings of the algorithm.
