DESCRIPTION:The joint NanoDTC-Impulse-Maxwell Innovation Seminar Series ha
 s a series of brilliant speakers who are at different stages in their Inno
 vation and Entrepreneurship journey.\n\nThe Maxwell Centre\, the Impulse P
 rogramme for Tech Innovators and the NanoDTC are pleased to host Dr Ravi S
 undaram from Oxford Instruments as speaker.\n\nThe talk\nWe are living thr
 ough a time where technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace. Driven
  by advancements in materials processing we are able to hold more computin
 g and sensing power in the palm of our hands than was possible in large ro
 oms even 20 years ago! However with every new scientific breakthrough nowa
 days\, the question of time to commercialization quickly follows. In this 
 session\, I will provide an overview of the challenges of development of n
 ew semiconductor technologies and how Oxford Instruments not only enables 
 such research\, development through the technology readiness levels in lab
 s across the world but also delivers high throughput and performance for h
 igh volume manufacturing of these devices. After this overview\, I would e
 ncourage a discussion on the kinds of technologies the audience is working
  with and discuss views on potential bottle necks and expected roadmaps to

 s\nThis series of seminars happens monthly and speakers will present their
  ideas and experiences on how innovation impacts their endeavours.\n\nWe h
 ave a varied list of speakers\, from academics turned in to entrepreneurs 
 all the way to established companies.\n\nThe format is a 45 minute talk\, 
 followed by Q&A.
