DESCRIPTION:We describe a technique used to construct groups of type PSL(2
 \,q) in a finite exceptional group G(k) for a field k of suitable characte
 ristic\, and count the number of conjugacy classes. Under certain conditio
 ns\, this gives information about the embedding for different fields.\n\nW
 e briefly show examples where this fails\, and a different approach we use
 d in such cases.
