DESCRIPTION:Random matrices and random tilings provide an exam
ple of strongly interacting variables. To analyze
their asymptotics\, a central tool is the uses of
the Dyson-Schwinger equations. Following this appr
oach we will discuss the central limit theorem and
the topological expansion for random matrices. We
will show how such ideas extend to random tilings
 .
