DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;It is well know that symplecticity plays a 
 fundamentally important role in Lagrangian and Ham
 iltonian&nbsp\;systems. Numerical methods preservi
 ng symplecticity (or multisymplecticity for PDEs) 
 have been&nbsp\;greatly developed and applied duri
 ng last decades.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;In this talk\, we wi
 ll show how the variational&nbsp\;bicomplex\, a do
 uble cochain complex on jet manifolds\, provides a
  natural framework for understanding&nbsp\;multisy
 mplectic systems. The discrete counterpart\, discr
 ete multisymplectic systems on the difference&nbsp
 \;variational bicomplex will briefly be introduced
