DESCRIPTION:Motivated by modelling challenges arising in microfluidics and
  low-Reynolds-number swimming\, we consider viscous flows in two-dimension
 al channels and present new transform methods for analysing such problems.
  The new methods provide a uni&#12\;fied general approach to fi&#12\;nding
  quasi-analytical solutions to a wide range of problems in low-Reynolds-nu
 mber hydrodynamics and plane elasticity. In this talk\, we focus on pressu
 re-driven flows in channel geometries with linear expansions and angled tr
 ansitions. This is joint work with Prof. Stefan G. Llewellyn Smith (UCSD).
