DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will review recent advances that lead to the fi
 rst complete\ncalculation of five-particle scattering amplitudes at two lo
 ops\, for\namplitudes in N=4 super Yang-Mills and N=8 supergravity. In par
 ticular\, I\nwill review the space of pentagon functions\, which covers al
 l functions\nneeded for two-loop five-particle amplitudes in any gauge the
 ory\,\nincluding QCD.
