DESCRIPTION:Glaciers in the Amundsen Sea are rapidly thinning and retreati
ng as a result of ocean-induced changes in ice-shelf buttressing. Projecti
ng the future behaviour of these glaciers is challenging\, in particular d
ue to the complex feedbacks between ice and ocean dynamics. To better repr
esent these processes\, we explore results from an asynchronous coupling
between a high resolution regional configuration of the 3D ocean model MI
 Tgcm\, and a state-of-the-art ice flow model Úa. In particular\, area-wid
e projections of ice shelf thickness and velocities over the next 150 year
s are obtained under two limiting scenarios\, i.e. sustained warm and cold
  ocean forcing.
