DESCRIPTION:Microstructures in martensites are often modeled variationally
by singularly perturbed multiwell elastic energies. In this talk\, I shal
l disusss recent analytical progress on the associated non-convex vector-v
alued energy minimisation problems. The focus will lie on scaling regimes
for geometrically linear models for martensitic nuclei with small volume f
raction of one martensitic variant\, and on needle-like microstructures. <
 br> This talk is based on joint works with S. Conti\, J. Diermeier\, N. L&
 uuml\;then\, D. Melching\, and M. Rumpf.
