DESCRIPTION:I will present new entropy methods developed in&nbsp\;&nbsp\; 
 collaboration with Patr&iacute\;cia Gon&ccedil\;alves and Ot&aacute\;vio M
 enezes (IST\, Lisbon)&nbsp\;&nbsp\; in order to study the large-scale beha
 viour of interacting particle&nbsp\;&nbsp\; systems. The first lecture wil
 l introduce Yau&#39\;s relative entropy&nbsp\;&nbsp\; method and a new var
 iational formula for exponential moments of&nbsp\;&nbsp\; observables in t
 he context of general Markov processes\, and it could&nbsp\;&nbsp\; be of 
 independent interest. In the second and third lectures I will &nbsp\; expl
 ain how to derive large-scale limits of non-equilibrium&nbsp\;&nbsp\; inte
 racting particle systems out of these ideas.
