DESCRIPTION:Over the past few decades\, recommender systems have become an
  integral \npart of internet businesses. In fact the use of recommenders h
 as become \na necessity in industries such as e-commerce\, streaming servi
 ces and \nonline journalism.\n\nThe rankings of internet’s biggest compa
 nies are regularly dominated by \ncompanies that are involved in the area 
 of recommendations\, whether for \nwebsite personalisation or by providing
  them as a service for other \nbusinesses.\nAmazon even attributes 35% of 
 its sales directly to its recommendation \nalgorithms [1].\n\nTo expand on
  the preceeding talk\, we will explore the recent progress in \nthe field\
 , hybrid algorithms for recommendations and the use of \nrecommender syste
 ms in industry with the challenges connected to the \ndesign of these syst
