DESCRIPTION:We will present a renormalisation group approach to estimate t
 he decay of the spectral gap of hierarchical models. In particular\, we wi
 ll consider a hierarchical version of the 4-dimensional $Phi_4$ model at t
 he critical point and its approach from the high temperature side\, as wel
 l as a hierarchical 2-dimensional Sine-Gordon model.  For these models\, w
 e show that the spectral gap decays polynomially like the spectral gap of 
 the dynamics of a free field. This is a joint work with Roland Bauerschmid
