DESCRIPTION:The search for hidden patterns in large amounts of
data is the common element that links many seemin
gly disparate fields in science. In this talk we w
ill explore how these techniques are being used to
derive predictive models of cancer development ba
sed on medical imaging data. In particular\, we wi
ll discuss the development of biological observabl
es\, or “biomarkers”\, that can predict treatment
response\; and how integrative data-driven models
can help with the study of tumour heterogeneity.
