 Ferhat Mehenni is a Kabyle politician\, author and singer. He is the found
 er and president of the Gouvernement Provisoire Kabyle\, based in Paris. F
 erhat has a long history of Human Rights and Berber cultural activism in A
 lgeria. His books include Algérie: la question kabyle (2004)\, Le Siècle
  Identitaire\; La fin des Etats post-coloniaux (2010) and most recently Ka
 bylie: Mémorandum pour l’indépendance (2017). Before becoming more of 
 an activist\, his music was influential in the emergence of the chanson Ka
 byle moderne in the 1970s and 80s.
