DESCRIPTION:The Behaviour and Health Research Unit's Annual Le
 cture (held in collaboration with the Centre of Sc
 ience and Policy (CSaP)) will this year be provide
 d by Professor Theresa Marteau (BHRU Director) who
  will reflect on the work the Unit has undertaken 
 in its role as the Department of Health Policy Res
 earch Unit on Behaviour and Health over the last s
 even years. This programme of work focuses on inte
 rventions in physical micro-environments (also kno
 wn as nudging)\, as well as interventions in econo
 mic environments\, with the aim of changing behavi
 our to improve population health and reduce health
  inequalities. The lecture will discuss examples o
 f our research\, such as reducing portion size and
  wine glass size\, and price changes on sugary dri
 nks and food\, which aim to reduce the consumption
  of food and alcohol. It will also address public 
 acceptability of these interventions\, key to thei
 r implementation by policy-makers.\n\nThe lecture 
 will be chaired by Mark Petticrew\, Professor of P
 ublic Health Evaluation at the London School of Hy
 giene and Tropical Medicine. Mark is a member of t
 he Policy Innovation Research Unit (PIRU) at LSHTM
  and co-directs the NIHR School for Public Health 
 Research at LSHTM. Mark is also an Honorary Profes
 sor in Public Health at the University of Liverpoo
 l. Since the Behaviour and Health Research Unit’s 
 inception in 2011\, Mark has been a member of the
