DESCRIPTION:The LHC and its four large experiments have generated unpreced
ented volumes of data over the past 8 years\, and required a novel infrast
ructure and analysis mechanisms to be implemented in order to manage\, pro
cess\, and analyze data at such a scale. Over the next 10 years both the S
quare Kilometre Array (SKA) radio telescope and the LHC experiments at CER
N will likely generate scientific data at the Exabyte scale. This talk wil
l describe what has been put in place for LHC \, and the possible synergie
s between SKA and LHC over the coming years. A collaboration agreement has
recently been signed between CERN and the SKA to explore these commonalit
ies. Both of these are global scientific collaborations and\, in many coun
tries\, will necessarily make use of the same computing infrastructures. T
he talk will describe some of the aspects of the collaboration and some of
the ideas being discussed for the future data analysis environments.
