If you have a question about this talk, please contact . THIS TALK WILL BE IN ENGLISH When you think “EU” you should think “science”, because that is where the EU is world-leading. Science, in turn, is critical for the type of sustainable economy that we need in the 21st century. The EU is currently boldly investing in science with targeted support for mobility, networking, business linking and attracting global excellence to the continent with well-branded fellowships. The UK does particularly well out of the EU’s growing programme, especially when UK investment in science is stagnating. If the UK were to pull out of the EU in a “Brexit”, there is little chance it could re-negotiate such a sweet deal as it has now. The EU science vision is simply key to UK science and the type of economy we need.
