Crystallography & Compchem Hack Weekend 20/21 JuneAdd to your list(s) Download to your calendar using vCal
If you have a question about this talk, please contact Susan Begg. We are holding an informal hack weekend to explore the potential of extracting factual data from the primary literature (now legal in the UK for research purposes). We are delighted to have representation from two important organizations in Crystallography: – the Crystallography Open Database (COD, http://www.crystallography.net/ ) with over 250,000 Open Organic, Organometallic and Inorganic structures. – Brian McMahon and colleagues (International Union of Crystallography) We shall concentrate on extracting crystal and related data (properties, spectra, synthesis, computation, etc.) from the current literature using a novel set of tools from contentmine.org. Held in the Centre for Molecular Informatics, Chemistry Dept, Lensfield Road. Anyone welcome. We work in small groups so you don’t need to know any chemistry. It helps if you have your own laptop and can install programs. The hackathon (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hackathon ) will run 0900-1700 each day. PLEASE LET SUE BEGG (smb28@cam.ac.uk) OR PETER MURRAY -RUST (pmr286@cam.ac.uk) KNOW BEFORE HAND AS WE HAVE TO REGISTER PEOPLE FOR SECURITY PURPOSES . This talk is part of the Centre for Molecular Science Informatics series. This talk is included in these lists:
