Abstract
Today the Nd isotope signature of deep currents in the Atlantic relates to their direction of flow. I will use Nd isotope records, reconstructed from sediment cores from the NW, NE and S Atlantic, to infer past variations in current direction. I will then discuss the possibility of calculating past watermass mixing using a combination of Nd and carbon isotope records.
