The French Department Ciné-Club will be screening ‘Of Gods and Men’, by Xavier Beauvois, in French and Arabic with English subtitles. The film will be introduced by Maria Flood (Department of French, Cambridge) and followed by a short discussion.

Synopsis: Algeria, 1996. Fundamentalist terrorism and civil war are tearing the country apart. A group of French Trappist monks living at the centre of the conflict are caught between the government and the terrorists, and must decide whether to stay or go. A beautifully shot, poignant film about life, death and the meaning of faith.

This event is free and open to all.
