Acting as a sequel to the seminar on ‘The Indian National Movement’, this session proposes a comparative analysis of selected visual records, interviews and private papers documenting several fictionalized narratives as well as first-hand experiences of Partition. The seminar includes sub-thematic strands that look at gender, military and diplomatic conflict. (Participants might find some of the images disturbing.)

This talk is part of the Visual rhetoric and modern South Asian history series.
