Mathematics and Applications of Branes in String and M-theory

We have recently calculated the superconformal index on 5d N=1 supersymmetric theory with SU(2) gauge group and N fundamental hypermultiplets in the conformal limit where the gauge coupling goes to infinite. This index shows as expected that the global symmetry in the conformal limit is enhanced from the flavor SO(2N) symmetry and the global U(1) symmetry for the instanton number to the exceptional group E(N+1).
