The recent uprisings in Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, and Libya raise interesting questions concerning the deconstruction of these societies, for which an interfaith context provides explanatory concepts and hopes for reconstruction. This presentation will examine factors including relationships with evangelical christianity, the state of Israel, and renovations within Islam which came to light within the upheavals, and consider how interfaith reflection and action in their midst may signal promise for the future.
