Abstract
This lecture draws on three decades of sociological data to examine how Ukrainian society has evolved in terms of trust, values, identities, and political attitudes. Using data from the European Social Survey (ESS) and other sources, the talk presents Ukraine as a complex and transforming society navigating democratization, state-building, and European integration. Particular attention will be given to how long-term social trends help explain Ukraine’s resilience in the face of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
